Covid 19 resources

To keep you and the doctor safe following infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines are followed:

A. Clinic:
  1. Questionnaire is sent out to you prior to appointment to rule out your exposure to Covid19.
  2. The clinic is sanitised between appointments.
  3. Appointments are spaced out so that social distancing can be maintained
  4. Sanitizer is provided at the reception desk
  5. To reduce the touch surfaces, all magazines, newspapers, coffee machine have been removed from the waiting area.
  6. Surgical mask provided at the reception desk
  7. Doctor will be wearing a N-95 mask and face shield when required
  8. You will be asked to keep your mask on all the time even when talking to the doctor.
  9. Temperature is recorded by Infrared thermometer at the time of entering doctors office.
  10. Digital payment accepted.
B. Hospital:
  1. Hospitals are also following IPC (infection prevention and control) guidelines as enlisted in the SOP.
  2. If you are scheduled for surgery following SOP is followed:

a. You are advised to self quarantine for 5 to 7 days prior to surgery date
b. Covid-19 (nasal swab RT-PCR) test is done 48 hours prior to surgery date.
c. Patients with medical conditions like diabetes, heart problem, lung conditions etc are not scheduled for surgery

d. No patient under 10 years and above 60 years is scheduled for surgery.

e. hospital admission and surgery is safe as there is no community transmission in the area where the hospital is located (community transmission is said to present when the source of infection is not known). f. One study done by Tata Memorial hospital, published in a reputed international journal, states that out of the 494 patients who had cancer surgery during the pandemic, none required escalated or intensive care for Covid 19 infection. Please click on the following link for the said article:
