FILLER INJECTION

It is a synthetic gel-like product for injection under the skin. Most commonly it contains hyaluronic acid, a type of complex sugar which is naturally present in the human body. Dr Sandip uses only US FDA approved products like JuvedermⓇ and RestylaneⓇ.

Filler injections are most commonly used for filling out deep lines  on the face like smile lines, drool lines (corner of mouth), frown lines etc. Fillers are also injected to enhance certain areas of the face like the cheek bone, jawline, chin, nose, lips and temple area.

Fillers are injected as office procedure and usually take 20 to 60 minutes depending on the areas of the face being treated. Numbing cream , cooling of the skin and use of vibration devices makes it an almost painless procedure. Also use of long and thin cannula allows a large area of the face to be covered with a single prick.

The improvement is visible immediately after the injection. There may be some swelling and bruising at the site of injection which usually goes away in 2-3 days.

The effect lasts for 12 to 24 months depending on the type of filler used. Generally thicker the gel longer does the effect last.
